Number Range

Number ranges must be configured for each company and are used to define the IDs that are automatically assigned to submissions and expenses.

The first time a submission or expense is created, the application automatically creates a default number range entry that applies to all companies. These default entries cannot be deleted, however they can be modified, if needed. Note that if there is already a number range entry defined for a company it takes precedence over the default entry.

Note: Whenever you deploy a new build after the initial deployment, you should make sure to update your number range configuration so that the same IDs are not generated again. Otherwise, you will have multiple objects with the same ID. You can either assign a new number range, or update the Last Generated ID.

To configure number ranges:

  1. Click Application Menu > Administration > Number Range.
  2. To create a new number range, click . An Add Number Range pop-up appears.
    1. Enter a Number Range ID.
    2. Set the Type to either "Expense" or "Submission".
    3. Select the required Lease Area, System, and Company.
    4. Enter a numeric or alphanumeric number range in the Range From and Range To fields.
  3. Edit an existing number range by clicking > Edit for the required row. Note that whenever you deploy a new build after the initial deployment, you must ensure that the same IDs are not re-used by following one of the following options:
    • Update your number range in the fields Range From and Range To so that the same IDs are not generated again.
    • Update the Last Generated field with the last ID that was generated for this Number Range in the previous build.
