About Modifications
Users can perform a modification on approved submissions to modify financial information, such as the budget amount and year distribution. Other informational fields in the submission, including notes or attachments, can be modified at any time.
During a modification, the submission status transitions to "Modification", and a full draft copy of the submission is created under the Modification Summary page in the main menu. This summary page lists all of the open modifications to which the user has access. You also can navigate between the master submission and the modification draft directly from the submission's Detail page by clicking Open Modification or Open Submission, respectively.
Note: When a modification draft is open, expenses cannot be registered or modified under the submission. Additionally, users cannot modify fields (such as participants, notes, attachments) in the master version of the submission.
After the modification draft has been modified, it must be sent through the approval workflow and approved. Note that if the modification draft is rejected, the status of the master submission changes back to "Approved". If at any point the modification is no longer needed, it can be deleted.
Once approved, the modification draft is automatically merged back to the master version and the submission status changes back to "Approved".
