Importing and Exporting Units

Units can be exported to Excel by all users who have access to the activation group. Only Lease Administrators and Accountants can import units.

Importing units allows users to modify existing units in activation groups that have not been activated. Users can modify units by entering the object ID of an existing unit in the uploaded Excel file. Note that new units cannot be created through Excel import. By default, Excel imports are limited to 2,000,000 bytes per file.

Note: If a unit is modified via Excel import while a draft is open in the activation group, the changes will be lost when the draft is merged back to the master version.

Tip: If you need an import template, export the units that are being modified.

To export all units to which the user has access:

  1. Click Main Menu > Import/Export Information > Export Units.
  2. Select the System and the Company Code.
  3. Click Submit.
  4. When the file is ready, a notification appears in the Notification Center. Click the notification to download the Excel file.

To export all units under an activation group:

  1. Load the required activation group.
  2. Click Context Menu > Export Units.
  3. When the file is ready, a notification appears in the Notification Center. Click the notification to download the Excel file.

To import units:

  1. Perform one of the following actions:
    • Load the activation group and click Context Menu > Import Units.
    • Click Main Menu > Import/Export Information > Upload Units and select the System.
  2. Click Browse to navigate to your completed file. Once selected, the application uploads the file.
