Connection

To import SuccessFactors data into Nakisa HR Suite a connection between Nakisa HR Suite and your SuccessFactors instance needs to be established before you can load your mapping configuration. Nakisa HR Suite supports two types of authentication, basic and OAuth2. You can access the connection at any point by selecting Connection in the Menu .

Enter connection settings:

  1. In the main menu select Data Integration Management > SuccessFactors Connector.
  2. Use the dropdown menu to select between basic authentication, OAuth2 or OAuth2 proxy.

To Set up Basic Authentication:

Enter the connection setting to connect to your SuccessFactors instance:

  • Base Source Uri
  • Username
  • Password

Click Save. To verify that a connection has been established, click Test.

To Set up OAuth2:

To establish a secure connection through OAuth2 between Nakisa HR Suite and SuccessFactors you need to generate the X.905 certificate. The certificate is then used when registering a new SuccessFactors client to generate all the information needed to create the connection between Nakisa HR Suite and SuccessFactors.

  1. Register a new OAuth Client Application in SuccessFactors.
  2. For first time implementation, click Download X.509 Certificate to generate the certificate.

  1. If the certificate does not exist, enter the required information into the popup.

The number of days the certificate is valid for.

Note: If the field is left blank it will automatically be set to 365 days. If you want to set a different number of validity days, you need to enter a value into this field.

  1. After filling out the popup, click Confirm.

Once the certificate is downloaded and the new client is registered in SuccessFactors, you can now enter the connection settings to connect to your SuccessFactos instance.

  • Base Source Uri
  • Client ID - This is the URL of the SuccessFactors system you are connecting to. Use /oauth/token at the end of the URL. For example: https://exampleinstance.successfactors.come/oauth/token.
  • User ID
  • Token URL
  • Company ID
  • Private Key (if necesary)

    When the X.509 certificate is downloaded, it generates a private key that is stored in the background and there is no need to enter it into the field. If you choose to generate an external private key, you will need to enter it into the field to establish a secure connection.

After all the connection information is entered, click Test to verify the connection. When the connection has been verified, click Save.

To Set up OAuth2 Proxy:

To establish a secure connection using OAuth2 proxy between Nakisa HR Suite and SuccessFactors you need to provide the following information:

  • Base Source Uri
  • Grant Type
  • Client ID - This is the URL of the SuccessFactors system you are connecting to. Use /oauth/token at the end of the URL. For example: https://exampleinstance.successfactors.come/oauth/token.
  • Secret Key
  • Scope
  • Token URL

Use the dropdown menu to select how you want the credentials sent as. Select one of the following:

  • Basic Auth Header
  • Body Parameter

Advanced Sedttings

You can use the advanced authentication settings to add parameters to your OAuthj2 or OAuth2 proxy authentication. You can add the following parameters:

  • Authentication Request Parameters
  • API Request Parameters

To add a parameter (for both) enter the information into the Parameter and Value fields and click Save If you require more than one parameter, click + Add a Parameter to add new parameter fields.
