View Designer Management
If you need additional org chart views in your Nakisa HR Suite implementation above the ones provided in the standard implementation, you can add new Orgchart, Position, and Employee views using the View Designer. This page explains how to create new views then customize those views to contain the data you need.
To add a new View:
- From the Org Chart Settings -> Org Chart Node Views and click Manage <> View Designer.
Note: For this example, a new Position view is being created. The process is the same for an Orgchart or Employee.
- Click Create New.
- Select a layout for your view.
- Click Edit to enter a title for your new view.
- Enter the name of your new view, as well as any translations of the view title you may need for your organization.
- Tick the checkbox to On to give the nodes a background color if needed.
- Select the field you want to use to trigger the color of the nodes. If you need to trigger it based on a custom field, you must create that before creating the org chart view.
- Click Add to start adding the conditions for when a node will be colored or not.
- Enter a name for the mapping you will use (e.g., "Generation" if you're going to color-code your nodes by generational segment, such as Millennial, GenX, Boomer, etc.).
- Select a color (or the blank color) for values that do not match your criteria.
- Click Add to add a mapped condition, then select a color from the drop-down menu. Repeat this step for as many colors as you have conditions.
- Click Create.
- Tick the checkbox to On to indicate if you want the employee portrait to show on the node.
- Tick the checkbox to On to add up to seven fields on the node.
- Select the field you want to appear from the corresponding drop-down menu.
- Tick the checkbox to On to indicate if you want the email address of the employee (or the employee who holds the position / is at the head of the org unit) to show on the node.
- Tick the checkbox to On to indicate if you want the cell/mobile phone number of the employee (or the employee who holds the position / is at the head of the org unit) to show on the node.
- Tick the checkbox to On to add a custom icon, if needed.
- Select the field you want to use to trigger the icon to appear on the nodes. If you need to trigger it based on a custom field, you must create that before creating the org chart view.
- Click Add to start adding the conditions for when an icon will appear or not.
- Enter a name for the mapping you will use (e.g., "Nationality" if you're going to color-code your nodes by which country each employee is in).
- Select a color (or the blank color for values that do not have a matching criteria.
- Click Add to add a mapped condition, then select an icon you downloaded from the drop-down menu. Repeat this step for as many colors as you have conditions.
- Click Create.
- Click Create to save your new view.
Note: By default, the HR-Location, Manager, and Employee roles will not have access to any analytics views you create. If you need users of this type to have access to a custom analytic view, a custom role will need to be created. Contact your Nakisa representative for more information on custom roles.
Tip: If you want to have a custom field on your node, you must create that before creating the org chart view.
