Manager Count

Total number of solid and dotted-line reporting positions under any position, including the manager.

Consider the following variables:

X₁ is the total number of all solid-line reporting relationships that report to a node, including child nodes and children of child nodes

X₂ is the total number of all dotted-line reporting relationships that report TO a node, including child nodes and children of child nodes

X₃ is the total number of all dotted-line reporting relationships that report AWAY from a node, including child nodes and children of child nodes

Calculation details: Manager= X₁ + X₂ + 1 (for the manager themselves)

Note: This calculation does not apply to the absolute top parent node in an organization, because that would duplicate the dotted- and solid-line reporting relationships. The parent node for the entire organization will have the same value for Manager, Functional, and Legal analytics.
