Indexation Jobs

You can create and run indexation jobs in Nakisa Lease Administration. The Indexation Jobs page displays all of the indexation jobs that have been run, but you can only view the reports of the jobs that you generated yourself.

In the indexation job, you have the option of reverting certain events that occurred on the same day as the indexation job Modification Date (which is only available with user-defined Modification Dates). For example, this option can be used to correct a previously run indexation job. See the steps below for the detailed information about which events can be reverted.

Note that before running a job, there must be at least one profile defined.

You also have the option to schedule the indexation job to be run at a later time on the Scheduled Jobs page. You can set scheduled reporting jobs to run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. You can edit, disable, or delete them at any time from this page. Once the job runs, it appears on the Mass Indexation Jobs page. You can click on the Profile to view the profile settings at the time that the job was run. Note that if the profile is modified, it will affect the scheduled job the next time it runs.

To create and run an indexation job:

  1. Click Main Menu > Batch Management > Mass Indexation > Indexation Jobs.
  2. Click to open the Create Indexation Job pop-up.
  3. If desired, change the Batch Size. The Batch Size refers to the number of postings allowed in a lane, with a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 15,000 in one batch. The Batch Size is set to 100 by default.
  4. Select a Principal Position. Note that currently only "Lessee" is supported.
  5. Set the Modification Date Type to one of the following options. This date specifies :
    • Next Available Posting: The Modification Date is set to the date of the first unposted payment, accrual, or depreciation posting after the last transaction that was posted in the activation group.
    • User Defined: Manually select the Modification Date.
  6. Set the Indexation Type (Lease) and/or Indexation Type (Non-Lease) to either "CPI Global" or "CPI Local", and set the following related fields.
    • If the field is set to "CPI Local", set the New Index Level.
    • If the field is set to "CPI Global", set the Reference Date Type
      • Modification Date: The Reference Date is set to the Modification Date.
      • Next Available Posting: The Reference Date is set to the date of the first unposted payment, accrual, or depreciation posting after the last transaction that was posted in the activation group.
      • User Defined: Manually select the Reference Date.
  7. For the Indexation Date Type (Lease) and Indexation Date Type (Non-Lease) fields, select one of the following options:
    • Modification Date: The first payment to be indexed follows the Modification Date (or the first available payment subsequent to it).
    • ROU Anniversary Date: The ROU liability impact is recognised as of the Modification Date, but the first payment that is indexed is on the next yearly anniversary of the ROU Start Date. If this option is selected, the Lease Indexation Date and/or Non-Lease Indexation Date are automatically populated.
    • Next Available Posting: The first payment to be indexed is the first unposted payment after the last transaction that was posted in the activation group.
    • User Defined: Specify the first payment that will be indexed in the Lease Indexation Date and/or Non-Lease Indexation Date fields.

Note: These fields are not available if the contract uses indexed currencies. In this case, the Indexation Date is always equal to the Modification Date (or the first available payment subsequent to it).

  8. For activation groups classified under ASC 842, you must set GAAP Indexation Treatment Type (lease)
    • Company Default: Use the setting configured in the Company Financial Setting "Default Indexation Treatment Type for GAAP" in Financial Organization Structure.
    • Standard: The application records the index amount under Index Non-Lease Payment, and only capitalizes index payments in subsequent non-indexation/non-impairment events.
    • Enforce Non-Lease: The indexed amount is recorded under Index Non-Lease Payment, and is never capitalized.
    • Enforce Lease: The indexed amount is immediately capitalized and recorded under Index Lease Payment.

Note: This field is only applied to activation groups that have not undergone any prior indexation events, and does not apply to contracts that use indexed currencies.

  9. Set the Posting Date Type. This determines the Posting Date and Document Date:
    • Modification Date: The posting and document date is set to the Modification Date.
    • Next Available Posting: The dates are set to the date of the first unposted payment, accrual, or depreciation posting after the last transaction that was posted in the activation group.

    • User Defined: Manually select the Posting Date and Document Date.
  10. If the Modification Date Type is "User Defined", you have the option of selecting Revert and the Reversal Reason to revert certain events that occur on the Modification Date. The job behaves as follows:
    • If there are one or many indexations on the Modification Date, then they are all reverted and the mass indexation is performed.
    • If there are one or many non-indexation events on the Modification Date, the events are not reverted, but the mass indexation is still performed.
    • If there are a mix of indexations and other events on the same date as the Modification Date, then the activation group is completely skipped in the mass indexation job. You will have to review this activation group and revert it manually if required.
    • If there are any events after the Modification Date, none of the events are reverted and the mass indexation is skipped for the activation group.
    • If there are no events on the Modification Date, the mass indexation is simply run for the activation group.
  11. In the Additional Filters section:
    • Select the checkbox Skip Activation Groups with Open Draft. When this checkbox is selected, the batch does not run on activation groups with an open draft.
    • Optionally, select a List Filter Type to manually select specific objects for the job. Note that the available objects are filtered by the selected profile.
      • If you filter by Activation Group and enter activation group IDs, click Validate to verify that the IDs are correct. In the Valid Values list, click Use to select them for the job. In the Invalid Values list, you can click Copy to record the list and verify the incorrect IDs.
  12. Select a profile to specify which objects the batch should be run on.
  13. Click Add.

Once a job is added, its status updates to "Creating". The status changes to "Scheduled" when the job is created and queued to run. Click to refresh the jobs to see the updated status. When the job has completed, the status will change to either "Done" or "Failed". Clicking on a job shows a detailed summary of the job, including which items were successful or failed.

Note: If there is a service interruption that prevents the completion of the job while it is running, the job status changes to "Interrupted". The application will attempt to recover the job as soon as possible. If the job is recovered, it will resume from where it was interrupted. If the job cannot be recovered within the time limit specified in Financial Organization Structure, the status remains "Interrupted" and you must run the job again.
