Configurations

The Configurations table allows you to configure settings in the application. Generally, any changes to these settings only affect newly created entities.

For information about how to configure these tables, see Using Configuration Tables.

To access the configurations tables:

  1. Click Main Menu > System Configuration.
  2. In the ERP System drop-down at the top of the Navigation Panel, select the required system.
  3. Click Configurations and click on one of the following table names. The table opens on the right of the screen.

The Company Financial Setting table contains the following settings. You can add settings for companies that belong to the selected ERP system.

Company Financial Setting Type Description

Classification Percentage Term

Set the threshold used when the application determines the suggested classification. The application compares (lease term)/(asset useful life)*100 against this threshold.

Classification Percentage FMV

Set the threshold used when the application determines the suggested classification. The application compares PV/FMV*100 against this threshold.

Generate Vendor Invoice

Set the Value to "true" to have the checkbox "Generate Vendor Invoice" on the contract Accounting page selected by default.

Account Payable

Set the Value to "true" to configure the "Payable Account Type" for contracts with Generate Vendor Invoice selected.

Payable Account Type

If "Account Payable" is "true", you can select which vendor GL account is used (in the Vendor General Ledger Determination table) for the main accounting standard payment posting (when Generate Vendor Invoice is selected):

  • VENDOR_PAYABLE_ACCOUNT: The vendor GL account used is taken from the Vendor Payable Account column. This is the default value if the setting is not configured.
  • VENDOR_PAYABLE_CLEARING_ACCOUNT. The vendor GL account used is taken from the Vendor Payable Clearing Account.

Transaction Type Posting

Set the Value to "true" to use the Transaction Types configured in the Transaction Type Determination table in posting documents.

When a contract is approved, this configuration is stored. If this table configuration is changed, it only applies to newly approved contracts.

Cost Center Allocation

Determines if the option to split postings to P&L accounts across multiple cost centers is available in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite. By default, this setting is set to "false". This setting overrides the same one in the System Financial Setting table.

Note: Whenever the financial schedules are generated during activation group inception, the value of this setting is stored. If the financial schedules are regenerated in an activation group draft, the stored value is used.

Cut Over Date

This date defines the point at which all internal postings should be posted to the ERP system.

Select when the Nakisa SAP Posting Bot can start posting to the SAP ERP. Any postings triggered from the application with Document Dates that are earlier than the Cut-over Date will only be written to internal tables.

If configured, this setting takes precedence over the Cut Over Date set in System Financial Settings, but is overridden by the dates set in the Accounting Standard Determination table.

Default Indexation Treatment Type for GAAP

Determines the default indexation treatment for leases classified under ASC 842, per company.

  • STANDARD: The indexed amount is recorded under Index Non-Lease Payment. When a subsequent non-indexation event occurs, any remaining non-lease payment amount is capitalized and shifted to a payment under the Index Lease Payment column.
  • ENFORCE_NON_LEASE: The indexed amount is recorded under Index Non-Lease Payment, and does not shift if there are subsequent events.
  • ENFORCE_LEASE: The indexed amount is immediately capitalized and recorded under Index Lease Payment (similar to the IFRS treatment).

Users can override this default indexation treatment the first time they perform an indexation event on the activation group.

Provisioning

When this setting is set to "true", Provision accounts can be set up for lessee contracts to accrue balances on certain dates based on payment amounts, which are then reversed by the actual payment amount on the payment date. Provision accounts can be set up for the primary standard.

You must configure the following Determinations tables (and all Relations information) for the Lease Classification Type "Provisioning" (which only becomes an option when the Provisioning setting is set to "true"):

  • Lessee Account Determination
  • Non Lease Lessee Account Determination

You can also configure the following Determinations tables, if required:

  • Vendor General Ledger Determination table (for provision payment postings to Provision GL accounts when Generate Vendor Invoice is selected in the contract)
  • Transaction Type Determination (for the "Provisioning" Transaction Type in the Relations section)
  • Document Type Determination (for the "Provisioning" Posting Document Type). Note that if it is not configured, the system uses the default Accrual (SA) Document Type.

Tax

Set the Value to "true" to enable tax calculations on postings, and to display the "Calculate Taxes" checkbox on the contract Accounting page in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite.

If configured, this setting takes precedence over the Tax setting in System Financial Settings.

Note: You must configure Tax Code Determination if you enable this setting.

Tax Calculation Mode

This setting determines which BAPI is used with SAP to calculate taxes on postings.

  • Basic: Net tax calculation, calculated by SAP.
  • Advanced: Net tax calculation, calculated using a third party associated to SAP. Note that the tax calculation request is still sent to SAP (and not directly to the third party).

If configured, this setting takes precedence over the one in System Financial Settings.

Split Lease Payment

Set the Value to "true" to split lessee payments based on their Expense Category (configured in Lessee Account Determination) when Generate Vendor Invoice is not selected for the contract.

  • This setting is considered every time a financial schedule is generated (and the journals are updated) in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite or when the contract is approved (and the scheduled payments are updated) in Nakisa Portfolio Management Suite.
  • If configured, this setting takes precedence over the one in System Financial Settings.

    Vendor Posting Ledger Account

When this setting is enabled, the Vendor Number is sent in the ALLOC_NMBR field in postings. Note that if there is a vendor split, only one Vendor Number is sent in the posting.

Note: When this setting is changed, it only affects the postings for activation groups that are activated after the change.

    Lease-end Term Ignores Payments

Set the Value to "true" to ignore (by default) other payment terms that occur on the same day and time as the Termination Option, Purchase Option, or Casualty, when the Modification Date of the activation group event is in the same period as the lease end term. Note that users still have the option of reselecting these other payment terms in the event.

Otherwise, if the Modification Date is in another period, or the field is set to "false", the other terms will not be ignored.

This setting overrides the same one in the System Financial Setting table.

    Depreciation posting for Group Currency

Set the Value to "true" to use the spot rate in asset postings in the group currency. Otherwise, the currency conversion uses the historical rate or weighted average rate. DOCUMENT

The Lease Classification Financial Setting table contains the following setting, which apply to the selected ERP System:

    Lease Classification Financial Settings Description

    Cut Over Date

    This table is deprecated.

The System Financial Setting table contains the following settings, which apply to the selected ERP System:

    System Financial Setting Description

    Parallel Currency

In addition to the company currency (i.e., first local currency in SAP), you can define additional parallel currencies by setting the Boolean value to "true". The application checks the exchange rate type configuration in the Exchange Rate Type table, and then retrieves the required exchange rate from the Exchange Rate table.

If this setting is enabled, you must configure one exchange rate type entry per SAP local currency.

Note: Whenever the financial schedules are generated during activation group inception, the value of this setting is stored. If the financial schedules are regenerated in an activation group draft, the stored value is used.

    Cut-over Date

This date defines the point at which all internal postings should be posted to the ERP system.

Select when the Nakisa SAP Posting Bot can start posting to the SAP ERP. Any postings triggered from the application with Document Dates that are earlier than the Cut-over Date will only be written to internal tables.

This setting is overridden by the date set in the Accounting Standard Determination table and the Company Financial Settings.

    Classification PV Selector Mode

This setting affects how the system-suggested classification is determined under ASC842. If there are two ASC 842 schedules (for finance and operating), this setting determines which PV is used in the PV/FMV*100 calculation that is compared with the "Classification Percentage FMV" setting configured for the company.

    • EITHER: The PV from the finance schedule is used in the comparison calculation.
    • MIN: The lowest PV from the finance or operating schedule is used in the comparison calculation.
    • MAX: The highest PV from the finance or operating schedule is used in the comparison calculation.

By default, this setting is set to "EITHER".

Use RFC Username for SAP Posting

This setting determines which user is displayed in the USERNAME field on SAP posting documents. When the switch is set to "False", the posting documents will list the user who created the posting job in the Nakisa SAP Posting Bot. When the switch is set to "True", the posting documents will list the user defined in the SAP system connection string. Note that if the setting is set to "False" and a user creates a scheduled posting job, the system will use the service user defined in the Nakisa Cloud Platform in the posting documents.

    Default Reversal Reason

Select the default Reversal Reason that is used for document reversals in Batch Management Posting Jobs.

    Default Payment Mode

Select the default Payment Mode (ADVANCE or ARREARS) that is used in the terms and conditions in lease components. By default, this setting is set to ADVANCE.

    Cost Center Allocation

Determines if the option to split postings to P&L accounts across multiple cost centers is available in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite. By default, this setting is set to "false". This setting is overridden by the same one in the Company Financial Setting table.

Note: Whenever the financial schedules are generated during activation group inception, the value of this setting is stored (unless it is overridden by the Company Financial Setting). If the financial schedules are regenerated in an activation group draft, the stored value is used.

By default, the vendor payable/receivable GL account is used.

    Payable Account Type

If "Account Payable" is "true", you can select which vendor GL account is used (in the Vendor General Ledger Determination table) for the main accounting standard payment posting when Generate Vendor Invoice is selected:

    • VENDOR_PAYABLE_ACCOUNT: The vendor GL account used is taken from the Vendor Payable Account (lessee) or Vendor Receivable Account (lessor) column. This is the default value if the setting is not configured.
    • VENDOR_PAYABLE_CLEARING_ACCOUNT. The vendor GL account used is taken from the Vendor Payable Clearing Account (lessee) and Vendor Receivable Clearing Account (lessor).

Send Profit Center to SAP for Balance Sheet GL Accounts

When this setting is enabled, then for all subsequent postings to Balance Sheet GL accounts, Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite stores the Profit Center (if it was set), which can then be sent by Nakisa SAP Posting Bot to SAP. Note that if Cost Center Allocation is enabled and there are multiple Cost Centers and Profit Centers defined in the contract, the application stores and sends the main Profit Center to Balance Sheet accounts.

This setting is disabled by default.

    External URL

If the SAP WEBGUI is configured to run with the application, enter the URL that will link Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite to the SAP WEBGUI. Note that users are responsible for providing a working WEBGUI link.

Send Contract ID In Item Text in Postings

To send the contract ID it the "Item Text" field in all postings to SAP, select "true" for this setting.

    Tax

Set the Value to "true" to enable tax calculations on postings, and to display the "Calculate Taxes" checkbox on the contract Accounting page in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite.

This setting is overridden by the same one in the Company Financial Setting table.

  • Lease-end Terms Ignore Payments

Set the Value to "true" to ignore other payment terms that occur on the same day and time as the Termination Option, Purchase Option, or Casualty, when the Modification Date of the activation group event is in the same period as the lease end term. Otherwise, if the Modification Date is in another period, or the field is set to "false", the other terms will not be ignored.

This setting is overridden by the same one in the Company Financial Setting table.
