What's New in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite

This section outlines the new features and fixes included in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite 2025.R3.

General

  • The Product Center features a redesigned and reorganized UI and UX to improve usability, including an enhanced landing page with new widgets for recent activity and favorites, as well as a dedicated Documents & Links page. Additionally, users now have the workflow transition options in the Actions menu of objects in their Favorites and Recents lists.
  • Users can now set up a reoccurring scheduled job for the Audit Log export.

Contract Operation and Lease Events

  • To simplify lease component creation, the fields FMV / Unit and Salvage Value / Unit on the Definition tab are now set to 0 by default.
  • To help users calculate the ROU End Date (when it is not explicitly known) on the lease component Definition tab, the fields Term (Months) and Term (Days) have been added.
  • End of term management: the decision or action that the lessee intends to take as a lease contract approaches its original expiration (ROU End) date can now be recorded in the new End of Term Intention field on the activation group Definition tab and Contractual End of Term Date and Period fields on both the lease component and activation group Definition tabs.
    • Users can also configure the when users receive notifications to remind them to set the End of Term Intention before the Contractual End of Term Date in the new System Configuration > Determinations > Account Determination > End of Term Determination table in Financial Organization Structure.

Note: For existing activation groups, the End of Term Intention is automatically set to "Not Applicable". You can use an activation group event to update the fields if desired.

  • Cash Incentive terms can now be added after inception using lease component and activation group events, as long as the First Payment Date matches the event Modification Date.
    • Additionally, Cash Incentive terms do not have to be on the same payment day of the month as a Base Rent term, as long as it does not result in a negative value for the period.
  • Free Rent terms are no longer restricted to be on the same payment day as base rent terms. They can be added on any day of month.
  • To improve flexibility with indexation setup, the following changes have been implemented:
    • At inception, if the Migration Mode is on, users can edit all of the Base Indexation Rate and Date fields, and the Reference Indexation Rate and Date fields. If Migration Mode is off, users can edit the Base Indexation Rate and/or Date fields.
    • In an activation group event to set a term as likely to be exercised with indexation, the Base Indexation Rate and/or Base Indexation Date fields are now editable.

Mass Operations

  • Eliminating the need for separate profiles for each batch job and for every user, all batch management jobs now use one consolidated set of Batch Management Profiles. These profiles are configured in the Nakisa User Auxiliary.
    • As a result of the consolidation, the filtering fields have been standardized across all batch jobs, and the Principal Position is now available in profiles instead of the jobs.
    • These standardized profiles can now also be used by anyone that has the same security access, removing the need for each user to create their own set of profiles.

Note: As a part of the consolidation, all existing profiles have been condensed so that there are no duplicates. Any scheduled jobs that used a deprecated profile will automatically be updated to use the retained profile (which is an exact match) that is now in User Auxiliary.

  • In mass Operational Posting jobs, users can now simply click the new "Select All" option for Journal Types instead of having to select each option individually.
  • Users now have early access to initiate Intercompany Transfers, moving system objects between different company codes within the same ERP system.
    • After a transfer, source objects will remain active for user validation. Users must complete both Lease End and Close transitions for these objects to finalize the process.
    • To use this new capability, the new "Inter Company Transfer" setting on the General Settings page in Financial Organization Structure must be enabled.
  • In Batch Management jobs and Mass Import, the application now warns users if a job is about to affect a large quantity of objects, and asks them to confirm again before proceeding.

Dashboards and Reports

  • Eliminating the need for separate profiles for each report job and for every user in both Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite and Nakisa General Ledger, the reports that are generated via jobs now use one consolidated set of Reporting Module Profiles. These profiles are configured in the Nakisa User Auxiliary.
    • As a result of the consolidation, the filtering fields have been standardized across all report jobs. Certain fields (such as Business Area) are now available in the jobs, and the Principal Position is now available in the profiles. Additionally, all reports can now be generated for all ERP systems instead of just one system at a time.

  • The Dashboard AI Agent (Beta) can now generate multiple charts at once, automatically building a custom dashboard from a user story or prompt and streamlining the entire dashboard creation process.

Configuration and Administration

  • Form Management is a new tool that allows users to customize Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite to their needs.
    • Users can record specific information that are not captured in out of the box fields by:
      • Creating new custom tabs, sections, and fields.
      • Add custom sections and fields to existing standard tabs.
      • Controlling the usage and visibility criteria of new fields.
    • To use this tool, the new "Form Management" setting on the General Settings in Financial Organization Structure must be enabled.
  • In Financial Organization Structure, the new Master Data Sync Settings page allows you to set up automatic copies of exchange rate master data from any ERP system to any standalone ERP system.
    • A read-only version of this page has also been added to Nakisa SAP Sync Bot so that users can verify if uploading or syncing exchange rates in one ERP system automatically copies the data to another ERP system.
  • In Financial Organization Structure, users can now import and export Number Range Configuration via Excel.

    • The Asset Transaction Type and Transaction Type can now be defined in the main determination table (instead of in a mapping table), and are used as the default values.
    • In the Relations area, two new tables have been added: Lessee Transaction Type Mapping and Lessor Transaction Type Mapping. These tables allow users to configure different Transaction Types for debit and credit entries per GL account.
    • Additional Asset Transaction Types have been added, such as Asset Increase and Decrease, and Liability Increase and Decrease.
  • In the System Configuration > Determinations > Account Determination > Non Lease Lessee Account Determination table, for Short Term and Low Value entries, the General Ledger Account Mapping table in the Relations section can now only be configured for "Deferred Asset Non-Lease" and "Deferred Liability Non-Lease" account types. For Non-lease expense and Non-lease accrual for short term and low value contracts, the accounts configured in the main determination table and the Non-Lease Expense Category Account Mapping table.

Nakisa General Ledger

  • Nakisa General Ledger has been reorganized as follows, improving usability and navigation:
    • Ledger Transactions has become the Landing Page for Nakisa General Ledger. A new set of columns and filters are now displayed, with the latest transactions listed at the top of the list for easy navigation. In the journal entry pop-up, the following enhancements have been made:
      • The pop-up has been revamped, to better display information for all documents (displayed in separate tabs) related to the transaction.
      • The Application References section now lists all pertinent information, and users no longer need to go to applications where the transaction originated for this detail for the transaction.
      • Users can click FX to view the exchange rate information for each ledger entry.
      • The ledger transactions can now be exported (according to the selected filters) to Excel, CSV, PDF, or JSON. The exported file is queued and can be downloaded from the Reports page.
    • Journal voucher creation has been integrated into the Ledger Transaction page. Additionally, the following changes have been made:
      • The option to select Cost Center or Work Breakdown Structure has been added on the Definition tab, which is used as the main cost object for the journal voucher.
      • A Transition History drop-down now shows information about each status transition for the journal voucher.
      • The journal entries have to be balanced before the journal voucher can be created.
      • Journal vouchers can now be manually reversed, or they can be set up to be automatically reversed on a specified Reversal Posting Date.
    • Consolidated Transaction Reports and GL Balance Reports are now available under the Reporting Module in the main menu.
  • Users can now generate period-end balance reports to reconcile the Nakisa subledger against their general ledger.
