About Budgets
This guide explains how to create a budget placeholder, allocate budget amounts to different projects, and track the budget status across projects within the application. Users complete these tasks to plan, distribute, and monitor budgets effectively across multiple capital projects.
Creating a Budget
To begin budget planning, you create a budget placeholder which serves as the initial budget container.
- Navigate to the main menu and select the Budgets tab.
- Click the Create button to start a new budget placeholder.
- Set the required budget information.
- Click Save to create the budget placeholder.
Allocating Budgets Across Projects
After creating a budget placeholder, allocate the budget to specific projects:
- In the Identification tab, click the Project Allocations button within your budget placeholder view.
- In the pop-up, select the projects to which you want to allocate budget funds.
- Click Save to add the selected projects to your allocation view.
- Enter the budget amounts for each added project.
- Click Save to confirm the allocation.
Tracking Budgets Across Projects
To monitor your budget status and changes, use the remaining available tabs in the budget:
- Actual vs Estimated: View how projects are using allocated funds compared to estimates.
- Documents: Attach relevant files related to your budget or projects.
- Movements: Track changes in the budget amount over time.
These tracking features help ensure budget management is transparent and up to date.
