Changing Org Chart Views

The application includes different org chart views that change what content appears on the nodes in your org chart. Your Nakisa system administrator will determine which views will be available to you, based on your role. The views vary slightly between Org Unit- and Position-based environments. The information that appears on each node is determined by the environment and the node type.

To change the org chart view:

  1. Click the Chart Action menu.
  2. Select Chart Views then select Org Unit, Position, or Employee, as needed.
  3. Select the view you want.

Note: Using Microsoft Edge may slightly change the appearance of some views.

Note: When viewing the analytic views (Analytics-Employee, Analytics-Position, Gender Distribution, Position Summary, Span Layer, Budget, Portrait, FTE, Succession Plan, Successor View), you can change the perspective of analytics from the filter panel. Simply expand the filter panel and click one of the other perspective scopes to select it. This will change the headcount, salary, and other analytics on the nodes to reflect the reporting relationships in the chosen perspective.

Org Unit Views

In Org Unit environments, the views are:

  • Standard: One of the simplest views with general information about the org unit
  • Manager: A view containing information about the manager of the org unit
  • Cost Center: Contains details about the cost center the org unit belongs to
  • Condensed: The simplest view, best for displaying many nodes on the same screen
  • Analytics-Employee: A view to display near real time employee-based analytics
  • Analytics-Position: A view to display near real time position-based analytics fields
  • Gender Distribution: A view to display near real time analytics for the breakdown by gender within the org unit of direct and indirect employees. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Position Summary: A view to display near real time analytics for the breakdown of occupied and unoccupied positions within the org unit The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Span Layer: A view to display near real time analytics for the span of control and layer for the org unit. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Budget:A view to display near real time analytics for the budget for the org unit, considering total salary, and average salary factors. The headcount analytic values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Portrait: A view to display near real time analytics for the totals of direct and indirect headcounts for the org unit. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • FTE: Contains near real-time analytics for the FTE and counts data for the org unit. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Perspective Analytics: Contains near real-time analytics for the headcount and span of control for the Legal, Functional, and Manager perspectives.

Position Views

In Position Environments, the views are:

  • Standard: One of the simplest views with general information about the position
  • Portrait: Contains basic information about the position and its incumbent, including a photo of the incumbent
  • Department: Contains basic information about the department the position belongs to.
  • Detailed: Contains extended details about the position
  • Condensed: The simplest view, best for displaying many nodes on the same screen
  • Talent Rating: Contains information about the incumbent of a position, including icons indicating key position, performance rating, potential rating, and risk of loss
  • Talent Rating - Vertical: Contains information about the incumbent of a position, including icons indicating key position, performance rating, potential rating, and risk of loss
  • Job: Contains information about the job associated with the position
  • Location: Contains information about the location of the position
  • Position Assignment: Contains information about the groups the position belongs to
  • Analytics-Employee: A view to display near real time employee-based analytics
  • Analytics-Position: A view to display near real time position-based analytics fields
  • Gender Distribution: A view to display near real time analytics for the breakdown by gender of direct and indirect employees of the position. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.

  • Position Summary: A view to display near real time analytics for the breakdown of occupied and unoccupied positions reporting to the positions. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Span Layer: A view to display near real time analytics for the span of control and layer reporting to the position. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Budget:A view to display near real time analytics for the budget of nodes reporting to the position, considering total salary, and average salary factors. The headcount analytic values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Portrait Vertical: A view to display near real time analytics for the totals of direct and indirect headcounts for the position and its children. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • FTE: Contains near real-time analytics for the FTE and counts data for the nodes reporting to the position. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Sucession Plan: Contains data about the bench strength and successors for the position. The analytics values are hyperlinks to a search results page containing the objects in that analytic.
  • Successor View: Contains data about the bench strength and successor readiness for the position. The most ready successor has grey highlighting.
  • Perspective Analytics: Contains near real-time analytics for the headcount and span of control for the Legal, Functional, and Manager perspectives.

Employee Views

Within both Position and OrgUnit environments, you can change the appearance of the Employee nodes.
