Working with Application Tabs

The way Nakisa HR Suite allows you to see and manipulate your data by opening up a new tab for each object you want to open is a powerful tool, but if you're accessing a lot of data, all of those tabs can get a little overwhelming. So the tabs themselves are color-coded to help you keep track of what you're working on.

To Identify Tabs

All tabs associated with your source data are a royal blue color. This will include your source org chart, dashboards, and sunburst charts.

Subsequent scenarios you create will have their own color, so any tabs you open associated with each scenario (Scenario landing page, Dropzone, Activity logs and Changes Reports, etc.) will have the same color as the scenario.

To Close Tabs

You have several options when closing tabs.

  • To close your current tab, right-click the tab and select Close.
  • To close all of the tabs, right-click the tab and select Close all tabs.
  • To close every tab but your current tab, right-click the tab and select Close other tabs.
  • To close all tabs associated with the current source chart or scenario, right-click the tab and select Close related tabs.
  • To close all tabs that aren't associated with the current source chart or scenario, right-click the tab and select Close unrelated tabs.
  • To close all of the tabs you've hidden from view, right-click the tab and select Close hidden tabs.

To Show or Hide Tabs:

You have several options to hide (or show) tabs without closing them.

  • To hide your current tab, right-click the tab and select Hide tab.
  • To hide all tabs associated with the current source chart or scenario, right-click the tab and select Hide related tabs.
  • To hide all tabs that aren't associated with the current source chart or scenario, right-click the tab and select Hide unrelated tabs.
  • To show the tabs you've hidden, right-click any tab and select Show hidden tabs.

Pinning tabs

Opening another tab of the same kind (a details panel, a scenario org chart, etc.) will overwrite the original tab you opened. (For example, if you open a detail panel for a Position, then click on an Employee node, the Employee details panel will overwrite the Position detail panel you had open.) To keep tabs of the same kind open at the same time, you must pin the tab to secures it in place.

To Pin a Tab:

Right-click the tab and select Pin tab.

-OR-

  1. Click on the tab you want to fix in place.
  2. Click the Pin on the tab. The icon changes to reflect that the tab is pinned.

Tip: If you Duplicate a tab, that will open up a new pinned version of the tab you have open. This can be especially helpful when comparing different sections of an org chart or scenario.
