Sensors and Triggers

In Nakisa Facilities Management, you can create sensor readings to monitor asset conditions and set up threshold triggers that allow the system to react to abnormal readings. For example, facility managers can monitor temperature levels on assets, define automatic system responses to thresholds, and enter sensor readings manually when required.

To create a sensor:

  1. From the Main Menu, open Sensors under the Directory section. The Sensors page displays all existing sensor readings.
  2. To add a new sensor, click Create.
  3. In the Create Sensor window, enter the required information:
    • Name of the sensor
    • Data source
    • Primary asset for data collection
    • Location of the asset
  4. Click Create.
  5. Once created, you can define the measurement details for the sensor. The sensor is ready to begin collecting data.

To create a trigger:

  1. Open the Triggers tab.
  2. Click Add Trigger.
  3. In the Add Trigger window, define the details:
    • Trigger name
    • Threshold value
    • Trigger type
    • Threshold frequency
    • Threshold condition
    • Start date
  4. Depending on the trigger type, you may need to add additional information:
    • Notification: Select the users or teams to notify and optionally add a custom message.
    • Inspections: Select the inspection template to generate if the trigger is fired.
    • Offline: The system sets the asset to offline when the trigger is fired.
  5. Click Confirm. The trigger is now created.

You can also manually enter sensor readings, regardless of the sensor's data source.

To enter readings:

  1. Open the Readings tab.
  2. Click Add Reading.
  3. In the Add Reading window, enter the following information:
    • Reading Value
    • Date and Time the reading was taken
  4. Click Confirm. The reading isnow added to the list.
