Mass Operational Postings
Mass Operational Posting jobs allow users to post and reverse multiple payment, accrual, asset depreciation, and charge postings at one time. For more information on postings and reversals, see Posting Transactions.
The Operational Posting Jobs page displays all of the posting jobs that have been run, but you can only view the reports of the jobs that you generated yourself.
You also have the option to schedule the posting job to be run at a later time on the Scheduled Jobs page. You can set scheduled posting jobs to run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly. You can edit, disable, or delete them at any time from this page. Once the job runs, it appears on the Posting Jobs page. You can click on the Profile to view the profile settings at the time that the job was run.
Note that before running a job, there must be at least one profile defined.
To create and run a posting job:
- Click Main Menu
> Batch Management > Operational Postings > Jobs. - Click
to open the Create Posting Job window. - The Profile section lists all of the profiles that you have access to. Select a batch profile to specify which objects the batch job should be run on.
- If desired, change the Batch Size. The Batch Size refers to the number of postings allowed in a lane, with a minimum of 1000 and a maximum of 15,000 postings in one batch. The Batch Size is set to 1000 by default.
- Define which postings should be picked by the batch:
- Select a Posting Transaction Type.
- If the Posting Transaction Type is "Reversal", select a Reversal Reason Type if there is only one ERP system selected in the profile. If there is more than one ERP system, the field defaults to the Default Reversal Reason set for the ERP System in the Financial Organization Structure. Refer to the Financial Organization Structure Administrator Guide for more information on this setting.
- Select one or more Journal Types.
- In the Job Posting Status field, select whether you would like to post postings with the status Open and/or Failed. This field includes both Open and Failed posting statuses by default.
- Set the date range for the postings by setting the From Date Type and To Date Type fields, which allow you to set a type of date range, rather than selecting specific dates. If you select "User Defined", set the specific date in the From Date and To Date fields.
- The application compares these fields with the Journal Date, which is dependent on the Journal Type. Payment postings use the Payment Date, accrual and asset depreciation use the Period End Date, and charges use the selected Due Date.
- Select a Posting Transaction Type.
- Define which dates should be used in the posting document with the Posting & Document Date Type field:
- Select "Schedule Period Dates" if you want to use the dates from the schedule period as the Posting Date and Document Date in the posting document.
- Select "User Defined" to manually select the Posting Date and Document Date.
- In the Additional Filters section:
- If required, select the Skip Items with Open Drafts checkbox to exclude items with an open draft from the job.
Select the Migrated Filter Type to determine which objects should be included:
- Local: Only objects that were created in Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite or Nakisa Portfolio Management while Migration Mode was off.
- Migrated: Objects that were migrated from another system (e.g., Nakisa Lease Accounting Suite 2022.R2.SPx) or that were created while Migration Mode was on.
- All: All transactions, regardless of their data source.
- Optionally, select a List Filter Type to manually select specific objects for the job in the Object List. You can search for the IDs individually or enter a list (up to 50) separated by spaces, commas, new lines, or tabs. Note that if you paste the list and press ENTER, the matching IDs are auto-selected and the invalid ones are listed under Invalid Pasted Objects.
Note: The job will only show objects that match both the filters and object IDs entered. Object IDs that do not match the filter criteria are not shown in the report.
- Click Add.
Once a posting job is added, its status updates to "Creating". The status changes to "Queued" when the job is created and queued to run. Click
to refresh the jobs to see the updated status. When the posting job has completed, the status will change to either "Finished" or "Failed".
Clicking on a job shows a detailed summary of the posting job in the Posting Tasks panel on the right, including which items posted successfully or failed to post. Under the Actions column of the Posting Tasks click
to view the report of the postings or reversals that were failed.
Note: If there is a service interruption that prevents the completion of the job while it is running, the job status changes to "Interrupted". The application will attempt to recover the job as soon as possible. If the job is recovered, it will resume from where it was interrupted. If the job cannot be recovered within the time limit specified in Financial Organization Structure, the status remains "Interrupted" and you must run the job again.
To create a scheduled posting job:
- Click Main Menu
> Batch Management > Operational Postings > Scheduled Jobs. - Click
and enter the job information as defined in the previous list. Note the following:- You can only select "Post" for the Posting Transaction Type field.

- Review the date fields to ensure that the job covers the desired period with each execution.
- In the Scheduling section, set the run frequency by selecting one of the tabs and adjusting the parameters below:Hourly (every x hours): The job runs every x hours.
