Module Management

By default, the application integrates with SAP FI GL, SAP FI AA, SAP FI AP, SAP LO-PO, and SAP CO. The Module Management page specifies how the application will integrate with specific SAP modules. The options are:

  • New General Ledger: Determines how documents are posted into SAP ERP.
  • New Asset Accounting: Determines which interface will be used to post manual depreciation.
  • Material Management: Not currently supported.
  • Plant Maintenance: Not currently supported.

The following application features can also be enabled/disabled from the Module Management page:

  • Enable Quantity Update: Enable this field if the Quantity field is enabled in SAP Asset Accounting. The application will then send the Quantity value for all transactions to Asset Accounting.
  • Disable Closing Validations: If selected, disables the validations requiring that all postings are done and an End Date is present to be able to close the activation group. For example, these validations may need to be disabled if using the Full Retrospective approach.
  • Disable Lease End Validations: If selected, disables the validations requiring that all postings are done before going into lease end.
  • Enable Parallel Currency: This checkbox must be enabled in the following cases:
    • If parallel currency is configured in the SAP system (OB22), enable multiple currency support in the application for this system. Note that the Exchange Rate Type table and Depreciation Area Currency table will need to be synced and then configured.
    • If currency triangulation is required, the reference currency must be configured (and this field is only used when "Enable Parallel Currency" is selected). The application will fetch the exchange rate for the contract currency to the reference currency (configured in the Exchange Rate Type table) and the exchange rate for the company code currency to the reference currency, and calculate the conversion from contract to company currency (called the reference rate). The calculated reference rate is then stored in the Exchange Rate table.

Note: Refer to Exchange Rates in Cross Company Code Configuration for flow diagrams of alternative rates and reference currencies with parallel currency enabled or disabled.

  • Fetch Parallel Currency Info From Dep Area: When the checkbox is selected, for asset capitalizations and subsequent capitalization due to events, the application reads the FI document and if the group currency information is empty, it then calls RFC_READ_TABLE to fetch data from the ANLC table. It will only fetch data for asset capitalization values for depreciation areas that are set up in group currency.

Note: This checkbox is unchecked by default. It is only required when parallel currency is disabled in SAP Finance, but an additional depreciation area has been configured in SAP Asset Accounting to manage assets in a group currency.

  • Disable Leasing Values to Owned Asset: When the checkbox is selected and a Purchase Option is exercised, the application clears the LEASING section of the BAPI and does not send the information to SAP (and therefore no longer blocks the asset value transfer if the non-Nakisa (own) asset class does not have these leasing fields enabled). By default, it is unselected, and the application sends information in the LEASING section to SAP for the non-Nakisa (own) asset class.

Note that for systems that are connected to SAP, Module Management only appears once the system has been synced.
