Using the Node Menu in Derived Hierarchies

Each node has a menu with additional tasks. Depending on the org chart and organizational object you are viewing, the Node menu can have the following options, but note that not all options are available to all users:

For Org Units:

  • View the details panel for the org unit
  • Set the background color of the node
  • Create, clone, edit, or delete the org unit and create a position in that org unit
  • Move the org unit to another section of the org chart
  • Load the Dashboard for the selected org unit
  • Load the Organizational Overview for the selected org unit
  • Add this org unit to the Compare module
  • Manage the relationship between this org unit and another (including dotted and double-dotted reporting structures)
  • Pagination for large numbers of child nodes. If a parent node has more than 50 children, the first and last node will have double-lined borders. (They will look like a stack of nodes.) Clicking the node menu opens a pagination option with arrows to let you scroll through the additional child nodes.
  • Add a note to the node that other users with access to the scenario can view.

For Positions

  • View the details panel for the position
  • Set the background color of the node
  • Create, clone, edit, or delete the position and create an employee to hold that position
  • Find similar positions. This option is available to HR, Manager, and Scenario Creator users, and allows them to find other positions with comparable data for job, job family, and key position indicators. (You can also access this data from the Similar Positions icon on the Details panel for the object.)
  • Move the position to another section of the org chart

Load the Dashboard for the selected position

  • Pagination for large numbers of child nodes. If a parent node has more than 50 children, the first and last node will have double-lined borders. (They will look like a stack of nodes.) Clicking the node menu opens a pagination option with arrows to let you scroll through the additional child nodes.
  • Add a note to the node that other users with access to the scenario can view.

For Employees
