Global Asset Tracker

The Global Asset Tracker feature allows users to have a geographical view of where their assets are located on both a map and in a report.

If the application is connected to SAP and asset locations are maintained in SAP:

Enable the switch "Enable Global Asset Tracker" on the General Settings page.
Enable the following SAP Sync Settings:
- Country
- Region
- Asset Location
Ensure that location information is maintained for assets in SAP.
The application will sync data into the following tables in Cross-Company Configuration in Master Data Configuration:
- Country
- Region
- Location: The application only syncs locations for assets in the Asset table that do not have a Cancelled or Replaced status.
  Note: If location fields in SAP are not mapped to the correct fields in the Location table following a sync, ensure commas were not included in the individual fields in SAP.
To regularly sync these Master Data Configuration tables, enable the related Sync jobs in Schedule Jobs.
When users create new contracts, existing locations can be assigned to units, or they can be assigned to units via an SAP sync once the SAP administrator has updated the asset location information in SAP.

Note: If users assign a different location to an asset, the application will not write back the updated locations to SAP. On the next SAP sync, the application will not override any asset location assignment.

If the application is operating in standalone or hybrid mode:

Enable the switch "Enable Global Asset Tracker" on the General Settings page.
Maintain the following tables in Cross-Company Configuration in Master Data Configuration:
- Country
- Region
- Location
When users create new contracts, they must assign a location from the Location table to the new units. If the location does not exist, you will have to add the location in the configuration before the user than select it in the contract.
