Setting up Configuration

When the application is first deployed, system administrators must perform the steps described in the following process to configure the application. Additional optional configuration options are also available in the Administration section.

Certain configuration steps must be performed in your Nakisa Lease Administration instance. For additional details on configuring Nakisa Lease Administration, refer to the Nakisa Lease Administration Administrator Guide.

Note that once the application is enabled in Nakisa Cloud Platform, users are blocked from activating activation groups or performing lease events in Nakisa Lease Administration that change the ROU Asset value if there is no valid budget submission assigned to the master agreement. Therefore, in order to continue certain operations in your Nakisa Lease Administration instance, you must assign valid budgets for all active leases. For more information refer to Budgets in Nakisa Lease Administration

Warning: Once Capital Investment Budget is enabled, users are blocked from performing intercompany transfer events in Nakisa Lease Administration.

To set up configuration:

  1. Contact Nakisa Support to enable the application in Nakisa Cloud Platform.
  2. Ensure users are properly authenticated and authorized in order to access the application. Note that you must assign profiles to users in the User table to grant them access to budget submissions.

Note: Nakisa Lease Administration users with the Nakisa_Power role are granted access to the application by default. All other Nakisa Lease Administration roles must be configured in order to access the application.

  3. Navigate to your Nakisa Lease Administration instance and enable the required switches on the Capital Investment Budget settings page.
    • Display Capital Investment Budget Information: Enable this switch to display Capital Investment Budget information and fields in the application.
    • Show Capital Investment Budget in Main Menu: Enable this switch to show Capital Investment Budget in the Nakisa Lease Administration main menu.
  4. In the Exchange Rate Type table in Master Data Configuration in Nakisa Lease Administration, set up a group currency exchange rate type with the Reporting Only checkbox selected for each required company. This is used to display budget amounts in the application in a global reporting currency. Nakisa recommends configuring the same reporting currency for all companies. Note that this reporting currency is only used for reporting purposes, and does not impact postings.
  5. You must maintain exchange rates from company currency to the configured reporting currency. The application reads the exchange rates from the master data of your Nakisa Lease Administration instance. Optionally, you can configure rates directly in the Exchange Rate table in the application. Note that the exchange rates defined in this table take priority over the rates from Nakisa Lease Administration.

  6. Modify application-wide settings on the Settings page as needed.
  7. In order to register expenses from your Nakisa Lease Administration instance, you must map Nakisa Lease Administration internal asset classes to investment types.
  8. A default approval workflow is available in the out of box configuration, but can be modified as required.
